Lovely hotel with very friendly staff. Unfortunately the pillows were too flat and the hairdryer was not powerful at all.

Lovely grounds. Wallpaper peeling in the corner of our room but inevitable in old properties. Breakfast a little disappointing, had obviously just been warmed up and toast was like shoe leather. Staff on reception were really helpful and friendly.

A lovely, old-style (in a good way) place. Beautifully decorated & furnished. THE most comfortable bed ever. Indulgent toiletries, plenty of hot water in a powerful shower. Pretty gardens and a lovely glass of wine on the terrace. A really good find.

Decor, cleanliness and amenities were exceptional. We couldn’t have asked for better accommodation. The surrounding areas were beautifully looked after and a major refurbishment was tastefully undertaken. A gem of a hotel.

10/10 Exceptional

The double room was clean & fresh but the 'standard' size double bed does not compare well with the more usual 'queen' size provided in hotels in this price range. The staff were brilliant ambassadors for the hotel - Maisie & Jenny in particular - always attentive, always happy to engage with guests, always thinking ahead to anticipate the needs of their guests. The hotel is set well back from the nearby road and there was absolutely no intrusive traffic, or any other, noise to disturb our visit. Parking was extensive and conveniently located.
