We arrived in the pouring rain and it was a bit of a hike from the road up some steep, uneven steps to get to the property. The hotel is set in a beautiful garden with an absolutely breathtaking view of the bay. The front desk person was kind but spoke limited English. He showed us to our room, which was charming and unique, great for a romantic getaway. Everything, down to the wooden door locks, is homemade. It is built into the hill, meaning boulders and tree branches are inside the room! It also means the room is not completely sealed, and bugs and geckos can get in. They have a beautiful mosquito net covering the bed, which we made use of and didn’t have any problem. We also enjoyed the open air bathroom with hot water- it was nice to shower with a beautiful view of the bay. Using the toilet at night or in the rain is a bit uncomfortable, though! Also, privacy is limited due to lots of windows and thin curtains that don’t exactly connect. The service was quite lacking- it was hard to find someone at the front desk or restaurant when we needed something. The English was very limited, meaning we pulled out google translate a lot. This place is NOT SUITABLE for anyone with mobility limitations, and I would be fearful of having small children here due to the lack of railings around the property. But, if you’re looking for a peaceful setting with a very beautiful, unique room, this may be for you!
