Everything was wonderful except breakfast buffet was so-so
The Kunlun Hotel was, up until 2 year ago, a Hilton-managed property. The Kunlun Group is owned by the Central Government of China and the service reflects that of an authoritarian state. The illusion of the hotel is that it looks and feels like the old Hilton, but the service culture is now that of what China was like 25 years ago-heartless, uncompromising and caring little about their customer. I would recommend anyone coming to Shanghai to select an internationally-managed brand, because the Kunlun means "cannot" in Chinese
The hotel was spotless! The breakfast buffet provided many options and all delicious. The staff were very helpful and professional. The hotel provided a travel breakfast for an early flight which was truly appreciated and just one sign of their service level.
The staff was very nice and helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. No toothbrush like most Asian hotels, but it wasn't an inconvenience. I would definitely stay again.
It was one of the best places we have ever stayed. The service was awesome. For good food outside of the hotel turn right when coming out the front door and walk several blocks. Watch for Charlie’s for best burger in Asia, and surrounded by other casual dining.
good location, all staff are very courtesy, our maid Liu who clean our room is very friendly and she did a good job to clean our room. we will return to stay in this property on our future visit to Shanghai.
Close to Jingan subway station. Some staffs were really helpful.
It's in a great location. The hotel has friendly and helpful staff.
Great location. The property had very good service and helpful staff. Some rooms remolded. Better to stay in an Executive room
The hotel lobby is impressively beautiful; rebranded from being a Hilton Hotel. I had a high floor (per request) and I appreciated the overall great service and value. The gym facilities are fantastic! It is adequate for a hotel stay. I did not use the pool, but I saw that it was clean. Some fresh fruits, water, and barley tea were available, which were appreciated. Everything was very clean and staff were professional and informative when I asked for direction, etc. The location is great for accessing meal options in nearby walking or cycling distance. The Jing An Temple and Park are amazing especially at night. The Bund is a taxi ride away, too.
