Very nice hotel, it has everything to do with the Leica camera's brand. A hotel, museum, etc all near

Great hotel, friendly staff and nice decor. They have a nice bar and restaurant which serves local German food and drink
Verified review

6/10 Good

The service was decidedly “cool” as in staff was not interested in giving guests the best possible experience. Reservation could not be found and instead of owning the problem, offering a drink in the meantime, it was made out to be our fault. The complimentary bread and oil and dinner was served seconds before the food arrived instead of at the beginning with drinks. Breakfast is a wonderful spread but when I asked for hot milk I was asked to use the barista machine by myself. Architecturally the hotel is stunning but the service left me underwhelmed. At check out he reception staff was too busy discussing their problems and life instead of taking an interest in guests and get meaningful feedback back. The feedback I then gave will surely not reach management which is a pity.

Great breakfast, very annoying daily 8 Euro parking for a location that has plenty of space.

I mean the main reason to stay here is the proximity to all things Leica, however it’s a nice place on its own. Special shout to Omid in Oskar’s for being so great. Would love to come back again.

As a fan of Leica cameras, a trip to Wetzlar to see the Leica museum was a bucket list item of mine. Staying in the Ernst Leitz hotel, was amazing! It was very clean with a lot of character. The room itself was very spacious and the staff was very accommodating. In my opinion, photographers MUST visit the museum, and stay at this hotel.

Location is great it is right next to Leitzpark, it is a must go place for Leica fans. Service of staff is alright. Room is clean and neat, but the pillow is so flat, quality is average. It is best if you drive if staying at this hotel

If you are going for Leica visit, this is the best hotel you can get for. Overall experience is good with this price. You are getting decent room size. But the pillow is so flat, even you have 3 pieces together. It is still flat and not comfortable.

2/10 Poor

Terrible service in a hotel that whilst appearing of quality is in fact in serious need of maintenance. So bad we left a day early

This hotel was absolutely perfect. We had a problem in the hotel we first booked and ended here. We hadn’t seen this hotel as an option when booking our trip, but we saw it while supercharging. Got an appartement room. Thank gis there was one still available. Super spacious. Very clean. Great bed and sheets. They helped us out last minute and it turned out great. I work with Leica gear so it turned out to be a great experience! Would never book another hotel in Wetzlar in the future.

This was the best hotel so far during our two-week trip to various cities in Germany. My friends and I were photography fans so we tried staying at this hotel which located within the Leica global headquarters campus. There was a Leica museum right across. The hotel though is remotely located away from downtown Wetzlar but one can take a taxi from the Wetzlar train station for an average of 15 euros. The hotel can also call a taxi for you if you want to go to downtown.
