Location was a bit out the way, had to drive for evening meals- limited restaurants open, irregular opening times! Accommodation in annex was really good- rooms a good size. No fridge in room which would have been ideal, fridge in a shared kitchen upstairs, but I don’t like to leave my wine in open areas for others to take advantage of! Breakfast tremendous, the best croissants I’ve ever had in France, been travelling there for 45yrs +! You can taste the wine at 6:30pm (€10pp) from the chateau, we didn’t as we had to drive - their restaurant was closed from September!

Truly beautiful location on the banks of the Dordogne in a small vineyard. We stayed here by chance as part of a longer road trip. We wouldn’t consider ourselves wine lovers but the free wine tasting session was really informative and completely changed our outlook on wine. The hotel accommodation was of excellent standard and the hosts were very friendly. They also make excellent and very reasonably priced wines.

A little gem in Bordeaux

We booked at short notice, en route to the South, so did not know what to expect. Fabiene and Frederic have a small biodynamic vineyard with chambres d’otes and great food, wine tasting and genuine hospitality. The room is designed with taste, had a large bathroom and a lounge area. This is a gem of a place.

Nice and quiet chateau next to the river Dordogne. They make their own biological (demeter) wine varieties. Room was very spacious in a great old house. Superb bathroom. Simple but tasty diner options. Great atmosphere. In the immediate vicinity there is not much to do, except for a nice private garden at 3,5 km. Within easy reach from the A10.

The whole building had a cat-pee smell, maintenance team doesnt do the best job and i personally really dont like it when they give you a one person cover on a double bed (even if you are single) Note: the restaurant only offers a quite reduced menu of tapas - breakfast very good but eggs or croissant not included

Great ambience throughout. The staff there were very charmimg and helpgul. The meal and wine we had were excellent. As arriving around 18:00, we missed their vineyard tour, unfortunately. However, with great advice and good explanation, we managed to try out their 5 different ones. Do artive by 17:00 if you are intered in the tour. We will definitely go back again.

Style and charm on the Dordogne

We had a fantastic time at ‘The Old Chapel’. The team couldn’t have made us more welcome. We enjoyed dinner watching the sunset over the Dordogne with a superb 2019 Merlot and a fine Armagnac.

Absolutely delightful. Wished we had stayed a couple of days. Owner was so accomodating. Definately recommend. Free wine tasting for guests as well.
