Loved our stay at Black Bear! We stayed in one of the studio cabins and it was wonderful! Whoever decorated it did an excellent job - such attention to detail. The cabin was so cozy and clean. This is a great property in South Lake Tahoe. The main lodge is the original bed and breakfast. There are a number of rooms located in the lodge. Then there are a few small cabins on the property also available to book. About three years ago, the lodge acquired the small motel next door and updated all of the rooms, joining the two properties into one large garden space. It is a hidden diamond in this area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely go back!

We had a fantastic stay at Black Bear Lodge. The lodge is absolutely beautiful, with a stunning wooden interior that gives it a real mountain lodge feel. It was incredibly peaceful and the perfect place to relax and unwind. The location was ideal too, tucked away in a quiet setting but only a short drive from local shops, restaurants and other amenities. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We visited in summer months so we did not need the fireplace but it did make the room feel very cozy - we enjoyed the cookies at check in as well as the coffee and tea bar in the room. We had a wonderful stay at Black Bear Lodge. The property was very clean, the area was quiet, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The gentleman at check-in was very friendly and welcoming. We were pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade to a nicer room at no additional cost, which made our stay even better. The only minor issues we experienced were that the hair conditioner dispenser was not working after shampooing, and the sink in the bedroom bathroom was draining very slowly. Other than those small things, everything was great. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again!

Excellent hotel with a location that is off the highway in a quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants. Easy parking and driving to nearby attractions. Stayed in the duplex cabin, which was very spacious for a long, Memorial Day weekend; great kitchen, sitting area, and fireplace. Hot tub is ok. Hotel is very comfortable; lots of decorative touches. Will definitely stay again. (Our neighbors in the adjoining part of the duplex were noisy. Please don't invite them back!!)
