What a nice view
Wow, beautiful location, it was worth it to upgrade to a room near the rapids of the Merced River; what a view.

Had a balcony right on the Merced River - beautiful view. Property is a little older, probably being spruced up a bit, but great location. No free wifi is one big downer however.

Nice room, but possible bedbug
While looking for a hotel near the Yosemite entry, this semmed to be the best choice. I saw some commentes about bedbugs a couple of years ago. I got concerned and called the hotel and they confirmd that the problem was cleared up long ago. We booked a room with two queen beds. My daughter stayed upstiars in a queen bed. The rooms were spacious and cozy.We stayed in the hotel on April 4th, and checkedout on the next day. Immediately my daughter's leg showed small red bumps; some of them lined up - a typical pattern for bedbug bites. Now more than ten days later, the bumps and blisters have been showing up and getting bursted. We started applying cortisone on April 6th. This has affected our vacation and her life now, as she was very comfortable and kept on scratching the skin. I highly recommend the hotel management to deal with this issue and ensure the travler's safety and health.

Okay if you need a kitchen.
Room was well equipped except for a dish towel or paper napkins for the kitchen. The restaurant was the only eatery open ($$$). Our view was of the highway. Informed maintenance of 2 nonworking lights - 1 was fixed 2 days later; the other never fixed. Wifi was $10/day for 2 devices.
