We greatly enjoyed our stay at castanheiro boutique. The staff were the best, very friendly, welcoming and helpful. This was the best welcoming of our trip from the front reception staff. We enjoyed the rooftop pool and bar. The views were amazing and staff were top notch. We also enjoyed the happy hour and had an amazing dinner in the restaurant. One of our best dinners in Madeira! We greatly enjoyed our stay the staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We will be recommending the hotel to others and hope to come back and enjoy in the future. Thank you. Obrigato.

We had a truly wonderful 5-night stay at the Castanheiro Boutique Hotel! Every single member of the staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly, and the entire hotel was spotless. The breakfast was lovely with a fantastic variety of choice to start the day. It’s a buffet style but you can also order item cooked fresh. To top it off, the rooftop pool area is simply amazing—easily the best in Funchal! We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would definitely recommend!

The hotel was truly amazing. The location was perfect right in the middle of old town next to restaurants and a 5 min walk from the river front. The patio area was nestled in the middle of the hotel and felt like a breath of fresh air. The service was great they were extremely attentive. I also sprained my ankle and asked for some ice they had someone bring it in mins in a sealed bag so I can ice my ankle truly great hotel

Very spacious room - although I think it was big as it was for someone with limited mobility. Loved the pool on the roof - great views! and all the sunbeds had cushions which was great. A little bit airless in the bathroom, but very grateful for the air conditioning in the room! We didn't eat in the restaurant as we were on a very tight budget (only there due to flight delay) but the menus looked really nice and had we been staying longer and on our terms, we would have. Reception staff very happy and friendly and helpful.

We got a stunning room (an upgrade I guess, as we were celebrating a special occasion). All the rooms seemed to have lovely balconies. The room itself was spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great and the dining courtyard was so lovely and peaceful. The rooftop pool was a great place to relax after busy hiking days. The people at the hotel (we saw Claudia at the main desk the most) were warm and very helpful. The location was excellent and they have parking right next door. My only suggestion would be that they should replace the glass/ clear plastic barrier on the rooftop to make the pool area feel nicer. It’s got a great view but somewhat obstructed by this foggy clear barrier. Overall we loved this hotel and would stay here again

Excellent smallish and stylish hotel, boutique like but not pretentious. Very Helpful, friendly staff. Quiet street but 2 min walk into tourist spots. Rooms were good, gym is a bit tired, downstairs swimming is small but the spa, sauna and rooftop pool and sun area are really great. Excellent Fine dining in restaurant with very good breakfast. Would definitely return.
