The staff were very good, thanks Callum. The room was tired, good location, noisy (possibly because of the start of Xmas festivities) Would I stay here again, yes

Lovely hotel. Great service and the room is very comfortable and clean. Ended up staying a second night and the staff couldn’t do enough to accommodate me. Great value and I’ll happily recommend this hotel to anyone.

Despite the view of others on review, we found the place clean, the beds comfy and, as most said, the breakfast lovely. Appears they are doing a bit of a refurb and the rooms and common areas are benefitting from that. I would stay here again if I was in the area given the choice.

Lovely staff, very comfy bed & lovely soft sheets. My room was very clean. Cooked breakfast was very good. The corridors, entrance & dining room are tired looking but it has character & there’s still signs of its former grandeur. Good value for money

Staff were amazing during check in and check out, the car park was full when I called so I was directed to the nearest car park. The bed was comfy and the shower had a decent water pressure. Breakfasts available looked lovely but slept in too late to manage to have any!

Enjoyed the history of the hotel, just looks a little shabby in some areas. All staff were friendly and informative, we enjoyed our short break in The Hind, thank you.

Very nice building, friendly staff, the room lacked attention to detail for cleanliness for example the kettle, shower tray, skirtings needed a clean. No control to radiator and wasnt working and got a bit cold in the night. The room didnt have a manual for fire regs, wifi password, local information ect there was a leaflet but again lack of detail. The room was comfortably enough for a nights stay.

All the staff at the Hind Hotel were super helpful, the room was delightful, breakfast was delicious, and we were taken to see the famous Priest Hole in the Oak room, which dates from 1644. Nothing was too much trouble, and the staff were great. The only downside was the feral behaviour of the youths directly outside this iconic local hotel. The staff were careful to look after the front entrance security for guests, and we were very grateful to be able to park our hire car in the secure hotel courtyard. As an overseas visitor, I was alarmed at the state of many town centres during our stay, but the Hind Hotel did everything it could to make our visit to the hotel comfortable

A short stay with work

A very convenient location, lovely room, nice breakfast and is being cosmetically updated. Fabulously helpful receptionist who helped me when I couldn't find the car park

Ideal for our requirement

Perfect for our one night stop-over enroute to another venue. It's quite a big, old building with some quirky features but we had everything needed in our room which was well presented. Staff were personable. Breakfast was good. The hotel sits on a one-way road system. It's compact car park is to the rear of the property. If you miss the hotel car park sign on approach and pass the hotel on your left, follow the one-way clockwise, turning left just before the hotel.

Lovely stay at the Hind. Staff were wonderful and helpful, great receptionists and bar staff, all staff very friendly. Room had everything needed - bar a mini fridge (which would have been a nice extra). The room was cleaned everyday to a good standard. The bar and restaurant/ breakfast area was nice, although other main areas looked a little tired and could use a lick of paint etc. Breakfast was wonderful! Only thing I would add for breakfast would be to offer fruit. All in all a lovely stay. Thank You!

Room was clean. Modern bathroom. Comfortable bed. Creaky floors due to the age of the building.

Not the hotel’s fault but my room was a long way from the reception down confusing little corridors. The room was cold and the decorative state was tired. The fire alarm went off three times during the night for quite a few seconds then stopped but I couldn’t get an answer by phone from reception to find out what was going on. Parking is very limited at the hotel as it’s in the town centre so I had to leave my car in a badly lit carpark a bit away from the hotel. I have to say the young lady on reception couldn’t have been more helpful when I rang from outside to ask where to park. She came out to find me and give me directions. Again staff at the bar when ordering food were pleasant and helpful. The food was ok but could have been better.

Uncomfortable bed

Mattress was sprung and totally worn out. Not comfortable at all. Hotel needs refreshing all over, carpets and decor. Staff are friendly and helpful and in the middle of the town.

Olde worlde hotel with heritage, history, lots of wood and creaky floors. The treads on the stairs were worn and some were held together with gaffer tape. But don't let the common areas put you off. The room was really great. Money has been spent on modernising and it has been spent well. Very happy with the accommodation. If you decide to go to Morrisons for refreshment, ask the staff for directions and save yourself a mole detour! Staff pleasant and helpful.
