We were very disappointed with our stay, mainly because of the lack of communication and poor customer service.
Before our arrival, we were never informed that it would be impossible to park near the hotel due to the town restrictions. As a result, after a 10-hour drive, we had to spend a long time searching for parking and ended up leaving our car far outside the city center. This delayed our check-in considerably.
Even more frustrating, nobody told us that the hotel kitchen was about to close. By the time we finally arrived, we were told that the only food available was a plate of cold cuts. We then walked to another nearby hotel at around 9:45 p.m. Although their kitchen had officially closed, the staff there went out of their way to prepare us a wonderful meal and treated us with genuine kindness and hospitality. The contrast could not have been greater.
The receptionist at our hotel made a small effort to help, but the restaurant staff showed no understanding or willingness to accommodate guests who had just arrived after a very long journey. Instead of acknowledging the situation, we were made to feel that it was somehow our own fault for not knowing about the parking restrictions in advance.
Good hospitality is about communication, empathy, and finding solutions. Unfortunately, we experienced very little of that here. We left with the feeling that the staff simply did not care about their guests’ experience, which was extremely disappointing.
