Exceeded Expectations
My wife, teenage son, and I stayed at the Art Hotel in Munich after coming back from a ski vacation in Austria. We chose this hotel because it was close to the Main Munich Train Station (a short 3 block walk) and it was close to Munich's Old City (10 minute walk to the Karlsplatz). This hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff is friendly and helpful. The art décor in the lobby, elevators, and rooms is uplifting. The buffet breakfast (included in the price) is overwhelming with choices and quality. I have stayed at many big resorts, from the Caribbean to ski resorts in Utah and Colorado, that did not have the selection or quality of food that I experienced at the Art Hotel. When writing hotel reviews I usually try to say something constructively critical but, in this case, I have no negatives.

Oktoberfest 2017
We stayed here based on availability and that it looked like it was a really nice hotel. Not that its not, but at the high premium cost of the room I would think it would be comparable to some of the higher end hotels in the area at the same price point. Once you get past all of the Scaffolding Walking in, the hotel catches your eye with all of the art on display. Really nice bar area, and the breakfast was good. But that was about it. I don't believe the floors were ever clean, my wife had a brand new pair of white socks she wore in the room that were filthy after the first few hours. there was blood on one of our pillows, that they gladly changed out. It was decently warm in Munich this year, so our room was 78F when we got back. I turned the air conditioning on and it didn't work. I went to the front desk to ask how to turn it on, they replied with: "sorry all of the air conditioning is now turned off, Open your windows". So we tried. we had a room facing the street so with the windows open it was so loud you couldn't sleep. Also when you open the windows you see the scaffolding I mentioned earlier. (see pics below) But at check out they asked how our stay was, my reply was: "fair at best". The response was: Thank you for staying with us". Overall there a good number of nearby hotels that get this kind of premium for their rooms and provide all the amenities they have listed here on this site. Doing a little research goes a long way.

Artsy, comfortable and great location!!
The hotel lives up to itname with art throughout. The hotel room was clean and the staff quite friendly. The location is perfect. It's next to the train station but not so close that there is lots of traffic. It's 10-15 minites walk to the site of the Oktoberfest and 15-20 walk to Marianplatz, where the city Hall, Frauenkirvhe, Alte Peter, and Hofbräu haus can be found. We enjoyed the hotel and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
