Wonderful hotel!

The staff was superb: knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, pleasant. The property is a beautiful old palazzo with an interesting history. The rooms are comfortable, funky and clean. Great place to stay in a terrific location.

We loved our stay @ Hotel I Merli di Ada! We made a late change to our itinerary and booked this hotel. The staff was great, the room was great and the top floor Happy Hour view is incredible! I'd recommend the room w the extra sitting room bc it was a great staging area for luggage etc. Great location close to the Piazza and the heart of town. Shower/bathroom a little tight for someone 6'3" but not a complaint, just an FYI. Water bottles at front desk after hours were a nice touch.

This property has sub-standard amenities in the room. No shampoo, no glasses, no botteled water in the room, no coffe maker. If you are lucky, you can have botteled water at the reception desk at night. There is no one at the reception between 8 pm and 8 am. City parking is 900m away. The parking that the hotel offers closes at 6pm, which is inconvenient if you want to drive around Tuscany. However, staff is polite when you can find them. For the soundproof they offer you earplugs, I guess it's telling you all you need to know about the quietness.

This hotel is inside the Siena ZTL zone. We end up spending hours to deal with the rules, and probably will end with fines and insane parking cost. If you are driving, plan your trip ahead of time. The hours of reception and parking service is limited. For the € they charge, I would expect higher service standards. Bathroom is a little cramped, other aspects are good.
