8/10 Very Good
May 17, 2023
Nice staff, but rough around the edges
Very convenient for the railway station, just up the escalators. The AC wasn't turned on in the 3rd week of May, which made for sweaty nights. Yes, it was cool enough at night outside, but the hotel is on a very busy street, so one cannot just leave the windows open due to the noise. The double-paned windows and insulation do a good job keeping the noise out, but they also leave the heat with nowhere to go. At 24C, this was not comfortable for me. Also, there is only one small elevator for a hotel with over 60 rooms, so this could make leaving difficult. Only one person can go at a time with luggage, so if more than one room is leaving, it can be a while before you get an elevator. We booked an "Executive Suite," but from the floor plan, it looked like our room was the same size as others. I felt like perhaps we were downgraded due to booking with Hotels.com instead of through them directly? Finally, there were some maintenance issues such as the door to our balcony not locking (on the 4th floor, so probably not a huge security issue), and our sink stopper not working (we had to pull it out to get our sink to drain). The staff were nice, and the stay wasn't terrible--but not what I expected give prior reviews on this place.
