Extremely happy with our choice. We stayed two nights before a Havila cruise. The dinner was plentiful and delicious, and it was nice not to have to go hunt for food that first day after traveling from the United States. Our twin room was spacious and comfortable. The Home Hotel met or exceeded our expectations, and provided as pleasant a stay as we could have hoped for. The observation tower offered an excellent panorama of Bergen's port, and the included breakfast, coffee, and dinner made the stay quite a bargain for such quality lodgings. Our room was huge by European standards and very comfortably furnished. We have stayed at three other hotels in Bergen over the years, and none of the others comes close to the Home Hotel's warmth and charm.

The location is ideal for exploring Bryggen and greater Bergen. The front desk staff (including Marieke and anders) were all so helpful and kind. The young man who worked in the evenings (long blond hair, didn’t catch his name) made excellent G&Ts! We loved the meals and fika was delightful. It was such a lovely, cozy stay.

A daily, generous dinner and breakfast buffet option available, included in our room rate, was a definite benefit. It was quite wet, windy and chilly during our stay in Bergen. We were quite happy to return to the hotel after a day of touring, and not having to venture out again to get dinner on a soggy evening was lovely. All in all, the staff, location and accommodations were quite good.

Despite an ongoing hospitality Union workers strike at the time, the front desk staff took exceptional care of my wife and me. Upgrading us to the Statsraaden was the highlight of our stay in Bergen. The breakfast was superb, as I’m certain dinners would’ve been as well, if they hadn’t been prevented by the strike. We genuinely look forward to returning.

The hotel was very crowded. The elevators worked not too well. The staff was very friendly. The room was spacious but a bit old… the bathroom was not renovated a while… the location is very good and so was the breakfast
