Even at a low rate, I expected more. The carpet was dirty and the sink started spouting brown water in the morning. The sheets and towel were clean but I found some carpet beetles on the very dirty mattress cover underneath. The shared bathrooms and showers were very clean though, and the location is hard to beat at just a few minutes walk from the station.

I had no idea I booked a room with a shared bathroom. On the hotels.com website, some listings specified “shared bathroom” so if wasn’t specified in the listing, I assumed it wasn’t shared. Completely my terrible assumption! So imagine my surprise when I show up with two three-year-olds in a hostel with shared bathrooms and showers. Thank goodness the facilities are semi-private so I could shower my kids in a private (and large!) shower room cleaned daily. There were even accessible bathrooms that were large to accommodate us all. It was a challenge I didn’t know I was up for but the staff was lovely and helpful and we enjoyed the location very much! Will definitely book next time - but perhaps at the adjoining property or perhaps in a room with a private toilet!

Check-in was quick and easy with the self-check-in system, and I appreciated that they allowed me to check in about an hour early. I stayed in a private room with shared bathrooms. Unfortunately, the bathroom situation was disappointing. There were three shared bathrooms, and none of them had shower gel in the dispensers. I notified the front desk on the first day, and the staff acknowledged it, but nothing was done. The next day, I checked again and the dispensers were still empty. I then told the cleaning staff twice, but they were never refilled during my stay. I really don’t understand how such a simple request could be ignored after mentioning it multiple times. If bathrooms and showers are shared among guests, basic supplies like shower gel should be checked and refilled as part of the daily cleaning routine. What bothered me most was that several staff members acknowledged the issue, yet nobody actually took care of it. The check-in experience was good, but the lack of attention to such a basic housekeeping issue was frustrating and disappointing.

Beliggenheten var svært god med tanke på prisen. Burde vært spesifisert hvor mange man deler bad med, dersom vi trodde vi skulle dele bad med et annet rom. Men det gikk fint dersom badene og doene var ganske fine. Doene og dusjene var separat og de var ganske rene. Hostellet ligger inni et hotellet, dette var litt forvirrende på starten.

Inchecken verliep vlot doordat je zelf contactloos kon inchecken bij aankomst, wat handig voor ons was omdat we laat aankwamen. Ondanks dat het hotel zelf wel wat aan vernieuwing toe is, waren de kamer, douches en toiletten proper. Goede locatie want het ligt dicht bij het treinstation maar je ondervindt geen lawaai. Alles is in principe te voet bereikbaar.
