Hostel - 6/10

The breakfast was simple but there were flies around the kitchen. Went inside the bedroom and fruit flies were hovering over my bottom bunk bed because the trash next to me was full! Bathroom were OK clean. The bathrooms need more hanging hooks or even a little mini table to put toiletries on there and hang towels (if need to). Most hostels I’ve stayed were pretty up kept but this one was probably a 6/10 - I don’t think I would recommend that it!

Amazing location and stay, 10 minute walk from the D line. Staff went above and beyond to correct a mistake I made by selecting the wrong dorm and were able to get me a room regardless. Room was clean, beds were clean and the place was secure. Very much so recommend staying here 10/10.

Honestly it’s great if you’re stopping by and quick in and out. The bathrooms are a bit aged and so is the property but it gets the job done. I thought the breakfasts were going to be premade but you have to make them yourself. No real issues the staff were super friendly and nice! I would definitely come back again if I need to be in the area

Hostile want traveling folks from other countries

One thing that hotels.com does not tell you is that with a hostel they want you to be traveling and they want you to present your airplane ticket or bus ticket. I needed but cheap room in LA for one night so I went ahead and went in and I showed them my bus ticket. But my ID was from California. She said I'll let you pass tonight but you can't stay more than one night. So that is not listed in hotels.com.

The employees kept calling me an idiot and kept trying to "dominate" me. I'm not sure why they kept following me around but it seems like they were trying to entice me to fight them, in order to get me arrested.

i came after 10 pm when check-in was closed. but staff did their best to help me. they also asked me proof of travel. breakfast surprised me - nutella, peanaut butter and bread. also coffee and creamer. didn't really expect to have it for the small price paid. wish towel was for free tho (rent is 2$ cash).

Could be better.

The worst part was definitely the AC not working in peak LA summer, it felt like a sauna during the day and I d’ wake up soaking in sweat. I tried talking to the management but all they did was calling someone to clean the filter, which didn’t solve a thing and nothing else was done after that. Cleaning was poorly done, could be better as well. Shower head was hanging because the piece that holds it to the wall was broken. They say they offer breakfast but it’s 3 pieces of toast with peanut butter, coffee or tea and a pancake mixture, I wouldn’t call that breakfast tbh… Staff was overall nice but I wouldn’t return.

Suitcases must be kept in a commons area and I had a carryon stolen or mistaken, but was never returned to me. The manager gave me a replacement piece, but the contents of used tickets and other merchandise were inside. I was really disappointed. But the price cannot be beat and I will likely stay there again because of its central location to everything. Russian is the main language spoken here but several speak good English. Be sure to ask for a towel at night since the front desk will not open until 11:00am. Good luck.
