First impressions, we wanted to leave.
First impression was scary. It was a dark dreary day which didn't add to the appearance. The inside was welcoming. We looked forward to the hot breakfast that was listed in the ad. However, to our dismay on going to the dining room we were very disappointed to see a Continental breakfast. This was false advertising !!! They didn't inform us of this until I asked about it. Had we known about this before booking, we would have chosen another hotel. Our stay was just okay.

Stay in Charlottetown during Canada Games
This establishment was once a very good hotel. But, now it has a very poor reputation among the local people (who know about such things). The web site for the hotel says it has the "best breakfast buffet in the city". Some small boxes of cereal, yogurt and old bagels (fruit only sometime) do not make it "the best". No hot food, such as eggs or pancakes or waffles. The rooms were comfortable, though repairs (beyond the damage left by frozen pipes and Fiona) were needed in places. The desk staff was just helpful. Nothing beyond that. They did not seem to have the authority to do much, such as when we inquired about the discounts for a lengthy stay, as it says on the web site. These apparently would have to be sent to them to send to the head office (where ever that would be). Basically, the hotel served its purpose of giving us a place to stay, but nothing more.
