"My friends and I booked a one night stay at The Colony Hotel and were very excited, as we live in Miami and this was our first time staying in Palm Beach.
Unfortunately, our experience was heavily impacted by a group staying in the room next to ours. They were making loud noises, yelling, and slamming things throughout the night, making it nearly impossible to sleep. We eventually had to contact the front desk, and the situation escalated to the point where the police were called to escort them out. We understand that this was not the hotel's fault, and we do want to recognize Jose, the manager, who reached out to us and did his best to assist after the incident. His professionalism and concern were appreciated.
There were also a few other issues that affected our stay. The hotel's website states that checkout is at 12:00 PM; however, our room keys stopped working at 11:00 AM, which was confusing and inconvenient. This should be clarified for guests.
Additionally, the room did not have blackout shades, allowing a significant amount of light into the room early in the morning. To make matters worse, our room was located near the dumpster area, and after already getting very little sleep due to the noisy neighbors, we were woken up again around 7:00 AM on Sunday by the garbage truck.
Considering the rates charged by the hotel, we expected a much more comfortable and restful experience."
