This is the perfect location and it was actually very quiet for being right off the Royal Mile. It was clean, they have a mirror by the door that has lights on it for putting your makeup on, it has a very deep bath, which was really nice to have a bath for the first time in a week. Not as much of a European feel, but it was perfect. They have a full Scottish breakfast buffet, and kids eat free.

Room was not what we reserved, which was a walk in shower. Staff blamed Hotels.com. VERY difficult to get in and out of tub shower. Tub much higher than floor and extremely narrow. The pictures on website absolutely do not match the actual room. No real closet. No safe for valuables!

Appears they are in a cost cutting mode. Met with self check-in kiosks, and ring a buzzer if you need assistance. Turn in your own towels for replacement. Clean your room every 7 days. To order a cab there is a “direct line telephone to arrange a taxi, but was not told the cab delay can be 45-60 min when inquired a hotel employee the previous night. We felt like the name “Premier Inn” is an overstatement of reality.

Adding the breakfast buffet at time of booking was the best deal in Scotland. Once we figured out that the key card had to be inserted for the lights to work, the switches had to be turned on for the outlets to work, and that the thermostat turned off after exiting the room, everything was free-flowing.

This is a self-help hotel; we did not do our research. Kiosk check in and create your own card. To receive help, you need to press a call button as there is limited staff. Another thing to note if you haven't traveled in a while is the key clip that operates the lighting system. Excellent location! We were close to the train station and Edinburgh City Center. Fun! Evening staff member Diego was quite helpful in helping with the room while also serving as restaurant waitstaff. Thanks Diego!

The property was quite one. However the staff made up for it by their friendliness and willingness to help. The restaurant was touching go for when it was open, and when it was not because of lack of staff. The location was not as great as I would’ve liked as we had to walk uphill to get to the High Street which was only a block away however it was a 90° incline so very sleep to walk if you have any mobility issues.
