Beneath Victorian-era arcades, hidden laneways reveal street art masterpieces and tiny cafés where baristas discuss coffee like sommeliers talk wine. The Queen Victoria Market buzzes with vendors selling everything from kangaroo jerky to vintage vinyl. At Federation Square, the angular architecture houses galleries displaying Aboriginal art beside the serene Yarra River. Cricket fans make pilgrimages to the hallowed Melbourne Cricket Ground, while theater-goers flock to shows in the East End. SEA LIFE Melbourne's underwater tunnels bring you face-to-fin with sharks, and Crown Casino's riverside complex dazzles with restaurants rather than gaming tables. Rydges Melbourne
"We stayed at the Executive Suite on the ninth floor. The room was roomy and comfortable. Well-appointed and tastefully decorated. We paid a similar amount to what 5-star hotels were quoting for their entry-level rooms in Melbourne CBD at the same period, so it was excellent value. If I need to pick on something, it would be very minor things: one of the two couches in the sitting room was not comfortable for longer sitting, and the shower (in the oversize, functional bathroom) could do with a shelf for a toothbrush or a soap. Minor issues indeed. We will stay there again."

"From check in to check out I could not have hoped for a better stay Great room at a great price with excellent service from all the staff that I enountered. Enjoyed drinks and a snack in the Hops Garden before an exceptional meal at a reasonable price in Woods restaurant, again with exceptional service from all the staff. Great breakfast buffet and secure parking. I definately will be returning."
Hyatt Centric Melbourne
"Clean, unique decor, great location"
YEHS Hotel Melbourne CBD
"Room was clean. But bathroom facilities very old and rusty looking needs to be replaced. U do have bathroom noise from next door rooms so rooms not that soundproof. Location is great for transport amd city touring etc."
