This place should just be tore down. Also, they charge for self parking? But they don’t tell you when you check in, SCAM! Their front desk person was also on a hookup app on his phone while at work. Seriously?

    Very Good 8.0
Good value for money but not great condition.
Great location for downtown but parking costs extra. Service was great, retrofit for the hotel not so much. Beds are very hard but the rooms are a decent size. Bathrooms are tiny with very little water pressure.

    Exceptional 10.0
Hotel great. Order food from other restaurants.
University Place is a great place to stay if you're going to visit OHSU. It's the most economical place to stay close to the South Waterfront campus. There are other hotels in the area, if you're willing to pay a lot more for a room. The only negative is the restaurant in the hotel. The new company running the restaurant is trying to make the restaurant an upscale place to eat. There is a minimal amount of food available to vegetarians. The breakfast buffet is a disaster. I was looking forward to Belgian waffles, scrambled eggs and bacon. The new company doesn't have the equipment for Belgian waffles. The half biscuit I ended up eating tasted 'old' and was like a hockey puck. The sausage gravy was not a breakfast gravy. It tasted like leftover gravy from the previous night's dinner and might have been a bad attempt for someone trying to make red-eye gravy. Luckily there are plenty of other restaurants close by. I ordered food from Laughing Planet, which I couldn't get at the hotel restaurant.

    2nd Time staying here
Second time we have stayed there. Really enjoy the location, parking ($18.00, which is lowest around downtown), affordable for around downtown, and room.

    Exceptional 10.0
I always have a enjoyable stay when I stay at this Hotel The difference between a good Hotel and a great hotel is how they handle problems when they occur and they do a great job at it, because there’s no perfect hotel on earth
