Great Hotel, just a couple little issues
This was my second stay. It's a nice hotel with a great view and a great breakfast. Those Cretan cheese pies are to die for. The pool is great and my complimentary glass of water was never empty. Downsides: It's on a big hill. It gets pretty tiring walking up that hill after awhile. The housekeeping was...unusual. We were there 4 days, and the housekeeping crew must have changed on our last day. We suddenly had 4 pillows instead of two on the last day. But we were missing some necessities in the bathroom that day. No new soap or toilet paper. These things happen. No big deal. What was unusual was the 6 pm water delivery. There was a quiet knock on the door and before we could answer it, the door opened and someone came in with water. Once I was in the shower, and the next time I wasn't dressed, and didn't have anything to cover up with. Still they came in! Lastly, I felt a little attitude from the reception person when I checked out. Maybe it was because it was 5 in the morning, I don't know. But it left me feeling unwelcome. Generally, I would recommend this hotel. I just thought those few oddities were worth mentioning. I'd stay there again (but I'd make sure my do not disturb sign was on the door).

    Nice place..Certainly not 5 star !
a nice place but calling themselves 5 stars is stretching it. Shoebox sized rooms ,a tiny unheated pool. Call it a 3.5 star and its great . A star and I felt cheated.

    Great view of Athens
Excellent location away from the chaos of the Syntagma area. Watching the sunset from the rooftop pool is not to be missed. The outstanding breakfast buffet is the best with an up close view of the Acropolis. Probably not ideal for someone who cannot easily climb stairs or has trouble walking. Anytime I’m in Athens this is where I’ll stay.

    Grest roof. But average room.
Was looking for a nice hotel after a week of traveling to the islands, at less expensive accommodations . The view from the roof was great. However my room was less than desirable. The shower had no curtain only a small piece of glass which did nothing to stop water from flowing all over the bathroom everytime I I used it. Also on a particularly hot night, I got back to my room late only to find the air conditioning wasn't working.

    Good renovation and views
Do not stay here if you want to be in the heart of the city or cannot walk up/down inclines or steps. It is otherwise a great hotel with the best views in the city from the pool/restaurant. Nicely redecorated rooms are much nicer than what the look like on the website. Very fresh and fantastic AC! The bathrooms could use a little more love but they are not bad at all given the pricing of the hotel and the free breakfast included and free wi-fi. Terrific gift shop. Food at restaurant great. The real hiccup is the service. Most of the "older" staff are not as friendly as their counterparts at most other Greek/Athens hotels. This is evident everywhere -- the front desk, the restaurant, and even the bell boys. The younger staff could teach them a few lessons as they are all great. Also be cautious as they do not tell you, but when they call you a taxi you get charged a significantly higher amount than flagging one yourself. Of course few go by this area but there is a taxi stand at Kolonaki Square. Try snagging one from someone arriving just then!

    Great Room, Great Experience
The room was large, the bed and bath were comfortable with closet space and a safe. Balcony looked onto the Parthenon, from afar, wonderful view. Quiet street. The restaurant had wonderful food at not unreasonable prices. I had a great trip and would stay at the St. George Lycabettus again.

We had a great vacation in Athens and the hotel contributed significantly to the experience. The view of the Acropolis from the sky roof restaurant was awesome. The staff at the hotel were helpful and polite. The room was clean with fresh linen and towels every day.
