Leicester Review:
Preface:
1. The review written on June 8th 2019 is accurate.
2. Additional pros: building was virtually empty, so it felt quite secluded. Nice towels and super comfortable bed. I also appreciated the US-UK power adapters.
3. Additional negatives: Dryer doesn’t work that great. Shower wasn’t really good. Bad service.
4. Seeing that I have been in business management for over 12 years, I always caution on the side of empathy for fellow owners/management when leaving reviews.
5. I’ve stayed in over 30 hotels from this website, and this is the worst rating I’ve ever given.
I arranged via email with the manager for my arrival at 8pm. I was told to meet up with the manager’s colleague “Bobi”, who would give me the keys (more of an Air BNB situation than a hotel). I was notified that Bobi would wait for 1hour, then I would be charged 10 pounds for additional hours as she awaited my arrival. I connected with Bobi on site at 8:15pm.
She was not at all friendly. She asked me for my passport and proceeded to take pictures of it, for reasons unknown without my permission. She then demanded that I pay her 25 pounds cash because I was late. I tried explaining that I had arranged the 8pm arrival ahead of time with the manager. She became incredibly rude. I located the email as proof, which sparked her borderline threatening tone, stating that “she’s going to get her money from somebody”. Horrifying.
Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.
