Needs professional hospitality staff, better servi
Though a beautiful space, the Hoxton is not a good hotel. They need to hire professional hospitality staff and consider the traveler. First, the bathrooms have motion-sensor lights. Terrible for two reasons: 1) bright lights in the middle of the night when you wake up to pee 2) lights don't stay on in the shower because the motion sensor doesn't go that far. When I asked if it was changeable and gave them the feedback that it was a major design flaw that would prevent me from staying there in the future, front desk staff did not appreciate the feedback (I was nice, I swear!). Though they have a "free breakfast" of overnight oats, mine was 30 minutes late the first day, which doesn't work for business travelers. Finally, the front desk staff in general was unhelpful. Upon check-in, I was told there was a "fitness center" downstairs. I went downstairs and found a dark yoga room with no light. When I went back to the front desk and asked if there was only a yoga room, he told me it was the "fitness center." I don't actually mind that there wasn't a gym, but be honest and leave the light on if you want to call it a fitness center for guests to use. I ended up doing yoga in my room, since I didn't want to "bother" the front desk staff with such pesky questions anymore. I will hang out in the bar when I return to Chicago, but certainly will never stay at the Hoxton again.

CHIC & POSH PLACE WITH GREAT CUISINE SERVICE
From the moment i walked in it was fantastic. Dustin and Julie were both pleasant to deal with at the front desk. There was no wait for my room which was clean, immaculate, cozy and decently sized (especially the subway tiled bathroom which had a fully functioning window). The comfortable bed, plush pillows and huge windows helped to keep the place bright even while the sky was gray with snow (DANGER: A PLUSH BED CAN MAKE IT DIFFICULT TO WANT TO GET UP LOL). Additionally the front desk was attentive to my needs. They got me an iron so i could press my clothing. When i was leaving the educated me about three deals in their website. Breakfast there was phenomenal and it was a great working environment. The restaurant staff and bar staff were attentive and well versed with they menu (a lot of people aren't). LASTLY the plane offs am easy commute by train from the loop and only 30 mins from Oakbrook Terrace. I would definitely stay here again.

hotel room was excellent. Loved the breakfast bag, the coffee-bar-restaurant-hotel lobby concept, and late checkout options. Hotel staff was awesome.
