Pleasant place to stay but it was a bit strange being the only guests. We had no interaction with people at all, including staff. Everything was automated making it feel a bit cold. We were surprised to find out that the house only had 1 full bath that was shared by 3 guest rooms. We were glad we were the only guests with such a small bath. Despite the apocalyptic feel of the stay, the rooms are very nice and kitchen is fully stocked with ample supplies for breakfast (cereals, milk, juices, coffee & fruit).

We stayed in the property at 215. Nice, clean, well furnished place. Lovely view of the mountains from the back porch. A local resident advised us to look for off-street parking and the owner quickly got back to me about where to park. Our only — mild — criticism is the continental breakfast was not restocked during our stay. That may not matter to some, and would have been alright with us, but there aren’t many places to get breakfast in town. (Along those lines, does The Market still make quiches for your guests? If not, you might want to update your website.) We would stay there again and recommend it to others.

Very comfortable place to stay

An amazing place to stay. This is a wonderful historic home on a quiet street. The house is well maintained and comfortable. The kitchen was nicely stocked with water, juice, coffee, milk and cereal. They put a quiche in the fridge for us. We enjoyed our stay.

You will love it!

My husband has never allowed me to book a room outside of a name brand hotel. I did not tell him I booked here until we were on our way and he was a bit irritated with me. He absolutely loved this Guest House and Room.(I did too) It was exactly as the photos showed and we will be back! Vicki our hostess was beyond helpful and we highly recommend the Market on Courthouse Square for a meal. Hinton, WVA is charming we loved it.

We are over 70 and we did not have a bathroom in our room. I may have read this, but I don’t recall reading it. We would not have rented this room if I’d known it didn’t have a bathroom in the room. Luckily, the room we would have shared the bathroom with was not occupied, but we still had to go out of our room, utilize the bathroom. Remember the code to get back in our bedroom a couple of times a night. Also, the stairs going up to the room, and all rooms are located on the second floor, are very narrow and a bit dangerous for older people. But, even though the room was very old, it was clean, and the bed was comfortable.

Loved it! The Guesthouse is like staying at a friend’s house. Very comfortable relaxing lodging experience. Different than staying in a regular hotel. A little more money but well worth it! I will probably stay there again when I’m in the area. Highly recommend the Guesthouse if you want your stay to be part of the experience!
