We have spent several Christmas’ at Stonewall over the past several years. We enjoy having Christmas Eve dinner at Stillwater’s and eating at TJ Muskies.
Due to the below zero weather forecasted, we came a day early. Check in on Thursday was easy, and we settled in our comfortable room and had a great day Friday. Early Saturday morning at 1:30 am we woke to a cold room. Going to the reception desk, we found that the resort had boilers down which were down the majority of the day on Saturday. Spent the day in our room as the hallways, reception areas, lobby, and dining rooms were very cold. Did have Christmas Eve dinner at Stillwater’s but pool area closed down due to heating issues.
The weather was extreme and unavoidable. However, we were disappointed in the lack of communication between Stonewall employees/management and those of us who stayed through the boiler issues. We initiated any discussion about what to expect. At checkout, nothing was said about hanging in there while they dealt with their unfortunate circumstances (and those receptionists were cold, too).
We enjoy coming to Stonewall for restful getaways. We appreciate the recent updates and gorgeous Christmas decorations. We love coming for the special holiday buffets at Stillwater’s. Although management had a lot to deal with regarding the heating issues, it would have been great customer service to let their guests know what was going on and offer things to make their guests’ stay more comfortable.
