Booked this as a basic stopover for the Loch Ness Marathon. In easy walking distance of the event village and very close to shops, bars, etc in town. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Location was clean and had sufficient amenities in my view - drying room very useful after the marathon! Only downside was bunk beds metal and quite noisy but I always take earplugs on such a trip. Would stay again.

I forgot my phone at the hostel and the staff was very helpful to get it back to me . Luckily a friend of mine has a friend in London where they sent the phone to. I did not actually understand, why it could not have been sent to me directly. I mean - thousands of phones are sent all around the world every day ... Well - I have the phone back now and I am very happy about it. Oh by the way - the hostel was great too. It was my second time there and it won't be my last. The stairs are a bit of a probem for me, but the staff at least took my luggage up and down !!! Thank you for everything !!!! 😁

Great hostel in Inverness

This was a fantastic hostel for a quick trip to Inverness. It's right next to the train and bus station and a quick walk to any major things to do/see around the city. Staff are friendly, facilities are very clean and secure. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an affordable place to stay!

Okay for short stays

The rooms are accessible through stairs on the first floor. Reception and kitchen on the second floor. For check ins, keys need to be collected from the Black Isle bar which is 100m away from the hostel. I was in a mixed dorm of 4. Female restrooms can be better maintained. I'm thankful for the staff to let me check in without making payment the first night because there were some issues with my credit card.

The hostel was in a great location and the price was great, however it took me by surprise that the 6 bed rooms were coed with both sexes. I did not like that fact, nor all the stairs that had to be climbed. Not the best option for older travelers.

I am a female travelling solo and was in a room with 5 other make snoring men. They said they'd look after my bags but then got called away from the desk for 2 hours. I wasn't comfortable leaving my stuff unattended. Bathrooms and shower area was gender specific which was nice. My bed too and bottom was very creepy so everytime either myself or guy on the top bunk moved...it was very loud. There was no ventilation so we kept the window open which meant the screaming seagulls and alley arguments also woke me up. Staff were very friendly. I had been in another Hostel and had a much better experience on my stay.

if you were in rooms under maybe 15 you got to be on the bar side which is cool and has a secret garden. I was not, so just on the regular side. the lounge was good and social, but the kitchen was small and had no oven, just a couple of hot plates. the bathrooms felt like you needed jandals to use the showers but otherwise all good. the number they put up to call if you needed to drop off luggage didn't work until. you tried without the area code which locals might know but tourists didn't, but figured it out

Fine for one night and only one night

Didn’t expect much for the price beyond a place to sleep/eat/shower for a couple nights. The day I got there, 3 of the 4 toilets in the female restroom were clogged beyond use and the other had no toilet paper. This was early afternoon when staff were first alerted. The next day, all 4 toilets were completely clogged and could not be used at all. Staff were again informed of this. I had to leave early the next morning and they were still clogged. You literally could not use the toilets. The bed itself was fine, as well as the room. The common areas were not the cleanest, and the entire place could do with a good clean. Would not recommend for more than a single night.
