Great hotel in the highlands
He hotel is located right next to the Inverness train station. The hotel is walking distance to the town, castle, and the river and a quick cab ride to the Culloden Battlefield and Loch Ness. We got so many free meals at this hotel! Free high tea for two, dinner for two, hot breakfast each morning. It was fantastic!

Tight and tattered
I'm quite sure I requested a room with two singles for my friend and me, but when we checked in (which took an unusually long time) we found ourselves unable to even make it past the door of a room with a full-sized bed and pretty much nothing else. The room was very cramped and it seemed the bathroom may have been larger than the room itself. Thankfully, after another long process, the woman at the front desk was able to get us into a larger room. We still had to share a bed, but at least it was a king, where we could have some distance apart. But in looking at the fire escape map, it may have been the only decent-sized room on the entire floor. I'm sure the place is a historic treasure and it's still quite beautiful, but every bit of wood was rotting, the place desperately needs updating, and we could only get a wifi signal in the lobby. However, the location was incredibly convenient, as we could walk to various restaurants and bars and easily caught our early morning train.

Let down.
No lock on the window, catwalk outside, so we worried about theft.
