The hotel is fantastic and we ate in the Italian and Portuguese restaurants. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Room was great and the hotel picked up from the passports that it was my wife’s birthday and left some bubbles for us when we returned from a Levada walk. Turn left out of hotel and walk 20 mins and some great restaurants got to try Bistrot Des Agnes. Turn right and 25 mins walk into Funchal. We’re coming back and will definitely stay at Porto Mare again

What an amazing property. This hotel was one of my favorites throughout our family trip of 10 days around Portugal and Madeira. We were given a suite with pool and ocean view. The rooms were spotless clean, comfortable beds with fluffy pillows. One of the best breakfast buffets we have experienced. The staff was very friendly and professional. A great stay at this lovely hotel. The bus stop is directly outside of the hotel so it is very easy to get to the town on Funchal. If you don't want to venture out there is plenty for ou to do with indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, lounging areas, bars and restaurants. The spa was lovely.

I enjoyed my stay at Porto Mare and highly recommend it. It is conveniently located in the area with many restaurants. The bus stop is in front of the hotel and you can hop on a bus to the centre of Funchal, or take a walk and enjoy the beautiful scenery on your way. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful with all the information you need.
