Faro is unique. Lots of natural beauty. The city center has a very large pedestrian only area full of shops and restaurants. The marina had not one piece of trash or plastic. The water was clean and full of fish. The sunset was as good as it gets.

Excellent
Faro is overlooked as people don't seem to stay here before heading out to other areas of the coast, but they're missing out. It is a small city, but very walkable with lots of nice bars and restaurants, and lots of available boat tours.

It was a good base to explore Algarve without a car, with easy access by ferry to Ria Formosa islands and beach. Not that much to visit in Faro itself but excellent restaurants. I also enjoyed the Faro free walking tour.

Bit disappointed in Faro itself, nice for 2 days to walk around but views from marina out to sea, restricted due to railway line. Old town was lovely to walk around with fabulous views from Church clock tower. Good choice of eating places.

Wasn't sure what to expect, just had the afternoon/evening before a flight, and was pleasantly surprised, beautiful old town, relatively large. It was Saturday night, and there were many great looking restaurants, patios, and interesting places.

Faro could promote itself much more. There are some run down areas too that are crying out for investment. The locals are very friendly and the local restaurants have excellent food and the staff are very playful and fun.
"One night in Faro on our way further down the Algarve- was perfect for walking to the town and restaurants for our family of 4 (including 2 teenage boys)."
"Our room was great and the closeness to the marina and little shops/pubs/restaurants was excellent. People were super friendly and provided guidance on best places to eat. We were very pleased with our stay. "
"We had a lovely night in the hotel after arriving in Faro. Our family room was on the top floor and we had views towards the airport. It was very quiet and it had two separate rooms for us and our teenage children. We would stay again. "
"Booked a short stay here whilst moving around different cities in Portugal with my daughter. Then returned because of the ideal location with family when we had to check out of a Villa early. The hotel is immaculately clean in the public areas and in the rooms. The rooms are basic, the room i stayed in had a newly fitted bathroom, again spotlessly clean. Little travel tooth brushes, tooth pastes, razors, shaving foam and soaps all provided.
Location is 10/10, the hotel is opposite the lovely beach and restaurants on the Island.
Staff were so lovely and accomodating. Cleaners attended room every day to check if we needed anything. "
"Great little hotel on the edge of old town. Breakfast is available for purchase but the Pastelaria across the street is amazing…don’t miss out on the pastel de nata and espresso! Everything is completely walkable and we had the best time there! Faro is small town friendly and we’ve never felt safer walking streets and back alleys at night. Take the tuk tuk tour to get an overview of the area and pay attention to the guide…he was a living history book and we had a great idea of what we wanted to see and in what order afterwards. Faro was amazing, you won’t regret your visit or this hotel. "
