Dust off those cowboy boots for Cheyenne Frontier Days, the world's largest outdoor rodeo where genuine Western culture isn't just history but daily life. The Wyoming State Museum and Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum tell tales of frontier life without sugar-coating the challenges. Downtown's wooden sidewalks lead past saloons where locals still debate cattle prices over cold beers. The Wyoming State Capitol and Historic Governors' Mansion offer glimpses into political life on the frontier. Between rodeo events, browse Frontier Mall or catch live music where performers don't just sing about cowboys—they are cowboys. The Nelson Museum and Cowgirls of the West Museum celebrate often-overlooked frontier women who were just as tough as the men.

Red Lion Hotel & Conference Center Cheyenne
"Would stay here again."
Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Cheyenne
"The room was small but clean. There was no counter space in the bathroom. Good place for an overnight stay"
Super 8 by Wyndham Cheyenne WY
"Love that the front desk personnel when checking in was friendly and engaged in conversation. Explained where our room was and options on how to get there, where to park our vehicle and mentioned breakfast hours."
Comfort Inn & Suites
"When checking into this hotel last night, I received a warmer welcome from the lobby staff than I ever have from maybe even my own parents. It felt like I’d been gone too long and they’d been waiting for me to come back. Josh is a treasure. The thoughtful details that make this hotel so much more than just a place to sleep are evident from the very first moment: the genuinely kind greetings; being able to open your car door fully without worrying about the vehicle next to you; maintenance rooms, rather than guest rooms, being located next to the auto-locking exterior doors so guests aren’t disturbed by people coming and going; the five-gallon water jug in the fitness center so you can refill your bottle; the infused water in the lobby; the kindness of a staff that can only come from people who are genuinely valued; the multiple chairs and cozy spaces to relax, both inside and out; and the landscaping and decorations that make the whole property feel cared for. I’m on a cross-country trip with my elderly father and his service dog, and this was the first place where I felt my breath truly settle. The first place where I actually felt unwound. It was so homey and cared for that, on my way out the door at 7 a.m. this morning, I noticed someone had dropped a French fry in the hallway. It seemed so foreign and out of place that I picked it up and threw it away. This Comfort Inn is special. I hope my travels bring me back here again soon."
Motel 6 Cheyenne WY
"The night attendant had just checked in, took the time to find an available first floor room. Renovations in progress, but whatevs - it's a Motel 6, folks."

"Nicest property of our 10 day road trip!"
