I've stayed at Manic Cinq several times in the past and thought I was reserving a room like the one I'd stayed in before, small with private bath in the courtyard adjacent to the diner, a truck stop type accommodation, but turns out these accommodations were in the construction worker housing section at the back of the property, room size about 8 by 10, one twin bed, no bath. Shared shower/bath with all the other dorm rooms in the building. I chose to keep driving on through to Labrador and was assured by the clerk that my credit card would be credited for the room because they could sell it, it was only five pm. However, thus far the $145. charge for my reservation is still pending.
This is such a beautiful area and the Daniel Johnson dam is incredible, highly recommend touring it or just driving beneath the face of it, very awesome. I always gas up here and the diner is great. The motel rooms in the courtyard area (motels de-energi) are good.I hope the pending charge on my credit card is dropped.
