This lovely hotel is conveniently located in town with restaurants and bars just a stone’s throw away. The decor is beautiful and the staff incredibly helpful. However, the bar closes quite early so we missed out on a pre-drink or nightcap. Our neighbour above us also woke us a few times due to the noise from their footsteps. Perhaps some rugs would help with that. Hubby and I also hurt our toes because of the door stopper in the middle of the night. Despite these minor inconveniences, we had a lovely stay and would definitely return. Thank you all

The property is very convenient to the shops and restaurants near the canals in Leiden. Our room was on the first floor, easily accessed with an electronic key. Some street noise was bothersome in the evening. The staff was pleasant but there is no 24 hour reception, so you may have to call if no one is available. Our room was lovely and historic with a very modern bathroom. Overall a good choice for Leiden.

Definitely wouldn’t return. The main issue was the bells from the church next door which rang on the hour, loudly, throughout the night. Obviously nothing the hotel can do about this though! This on its own would be enough to prevent me returning, but there were a number of other issues. All in all this just didn’t feel like a “boutique hotel” in any way other than how charming it looks from the outside. The limited reception hours, lack of anywhere to sit and relax in the evening time once the reception staff had left, unattended and locked external doors, tiled floors everywhere, no housekeeping on one of the two days - it all felt more like I had booked an ok room in a short term room to let property. It didn’t feel particularly safe, never mind pleasant, to let myself into this empty echoing hallway at say 9pm. Plus side - breakfast was nice although had to specify, before staff left the day before, what time you wanted it. Bathroom was nicely decorated. Bed was comfortable. But still wouldn’t recommend.

Everything about this hotel is exceptional. The room is very large and has a sofa also in it; the mattress is fantastic, the location is in the middle of the center of Leiden and the breakfast was very nice. I would definitely come back to this hotel on my next trip.

Great central location within walking distance of all main attractions. Really helpful and friendly staff. Pillows were a little hard and too big for us but that's more our personal preference,. The rooms are beautifully decorated and clean, would definitely recommend.
