City Hotel Rembrandt, Leiden
Great affordable boutique hotel
I had a perfect stay t Hotel Rembrandt in Leiden. I was there for a business meeting and made may reservation last minute. The front desk stuff was very accommodating to my needs. The room was comfortable and cozy. Very affordable price for the quality of this boutique hotel. I would only suggest to improve the lightings and the light controls.

Nice room but very hot
Nice room, comfy bed, very clean. Big windows facing east made the room very hot already at 9 am. Busy area with many bars and restaurants.

Friendly staff. Great location, within easy walking distance to restaurants and less than 10 min walk to train station. Breakfast was average. WIFI was good. Comfortable common area.

Not what i was expecting
The area is okay. Can't blame them for the construction outside. The main problem is how awkward the room was and the state of it. Holes barely covered on the walls like someone had ripped down a painting or stabbed the wall. The bed was nice but so big you barely had any space to move around and couldn't even open the door properly. The way the room is designed you can't access the window easily as well as there is a desk and a wall in the way. I don't know if it was originally designed this way or an afterthought but it isn't very functional. The mini fridge was hiding in a cabinet...and had mold in the back. Unless you actually got down to look in the fridge you wouldn't have seen it but I had to get down there to rearrange some shelves. Gross. Bathroom was nice though. Didn't notice any mold in there and the shower was always hot. I think if I had stayed in a different room I wouldn't have had any problems but this room in particular is just bad.

Rembrandt Hotel is the place to go in Leiden
Our stay at the hotel was wonderful. The staff is helpful and friendly and you cannot beat the location. It is close to the Central Station which is 20 minutes away from the international airport Amsterdam Schiphol. It is also in the heart of the old city with a plethora of restaurants, museums, one of the longest shopping streets in the Netherlands and a bounty of beautiful 16th and 17th architecture. The hotel was freshly painted and has a nice bar and restaurant so it is a great meeting place for business or leisure as well.
