Breakfast buffet was the best thing about this hotel, it was excellent! Room was oddly laid out and had no a/c or heat to regulate sweltering temperature that we could figure out. A fan in the room was well used and one tiny window way up high could be opened only by standing on a room long shelf to get to it. Weirdly, there were two heavy twin sz comforters instead of one full sz on bed and they were too hot to use. Asked for sheets but they said they had none. Stole some off maid’s cart and used them without comforters even though they were fitted. Horrible room and bathroom lighting, couldn’t see well enough to put on make up. Silly toilet paper hanger, think of a backside L that guaranteed the paper would go flying off when you tried to roll down some. Shallow round sink with no space for toiletries, half glass shower so you could enjoy an entirely wet floor when finished. However towels were big and thick and we made use of the towel warmer. No mini toiletries items in room except squeeze body gel containers, drinking glasses, hair dryer and Kleenex box. Needed some help with directions from front desk and got it done but most were formal and polite, not overtly friendly. Location was good, right next to bus depot and convenient to main shopping street. Hotel and room were very clean and spartan. Elevator was fast.

Would stay again! ❤️
We were on our honeymoon! Staff was extremely polite and accommodating. We always found a place to park on the property, whether inside the garage or in their parking area. No air conditioning and window that opens to let fresh air in a cool down the room is quite small, so we needed a fan for each of us to keep us moderately cool (small fans provided by hotel, but pretty weak in my opinion). I would recommend better cooling accommodations for out of country visitors. If a bigger portion of the window would have opened, I’m sure that would have been sufficient. We Got to check in a tad early thankfully and we got a great room with a beautiful room! Rooms are not as big as I had hoped, but I’m pretty sure those are standard size rooms in Iceland. They had a HUGE breakfast! But my wife and I do not eat pork, so I wish there would have been more meat alternatives, but we didn’t cry about it. Eggs were a little weird and had a weird texture in my opinion. I give breakfast a 7/10. We did utilize the free breakfast nearly every morning, so you can’t beat “free” food! Overall great stay and we miss our stay a lot! 😭 here’s to next time in Iceland! ❤️

Exceptional 10.0
This was our first stay Iceland and our first stay in your hotel, but I must say,my wife and I both agree that the experience was very nice. The staff is very attentive to the needs of the guests. The room was a little smaller than expected but adequate. The gray and black combinations of the room decor was a bit gloomy. The hotels bar was fully stocked, the continental breakfast was amazing, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, baked beans, fresh fruits, cold and hot cereals, tea, coffee, juices all good. If ever in Iceland again we know where to stay. Again, everything was better than expectations, even after reading others reviews. There are numerous other hotels in the area, but SKUGGI RULES. A 2minute walk to the bus terminal area, a 2 block walk to convenience store.10 minute walk to the HARPA.15 minute walk to VOLCANO MUSEUM. 8 minute to the L. Ericsson statue and the most prominent church. Shopping area is 5 minute walk away, gifts, bars, restaurants, clothing, woolen shops, travel information, even the PARLIAMENT house, and the meeting place for the walking tour is all within a ten to fifteen minute walk. Through all of this the area is still remains quiet. If we had to say something negative about our stay,it would be----the fan in our room did not work upon wife mentioned it to the desk clerk and by the time we returned 3hours later it had been replaced.

The hotel was located very conveniently for us. It was great to be so close to a bus stop so we could easily be picked up for our excursions. The front desk was able to get us in our room early on the day we arrived which was nice. The room service was a little hit or miss, one day they came and it was great and the next they didn't clean our room at all. I am sure it was an oversight and honestly we just kind of laughed it off. I can see this annoying some people though so I felt it only fair to mention it in a review. Once we realized our room hadn't been touched we called the front desk and they brought us the additional towels we needed so we didn't see a need to make any further issue of it. The breakfast is really yummy, something for everyone I feel like. There is a happy hour every night at the bar which was nice as well. All in all I would stay here again and would recommend to most all travelers.

Great boutique hotel!
It is a great hotel! Room & bathroom are super clean. Breakfast is good, and they even let you take food out instead of dine in when you're in a hurry to go on a tour. The underground garage is very convenient to park your car. The only small complaints that I have are very minor. If your room is facing the street, it is quite noisy. And the housekeeping is not very attentive and they leave at 4 pm. We asked for an extra duvet which they gave us, but then after a few days they took it away from our room. Also, they do not check to refill the shampoo bottle. We put a note on the bottle to be refilled, but they didn't even see the note. We had to put the note in the sink for them to see it after 2 days.
