My girlfriend and I just left the Piazza Heritage hotel on our first trip through Dalmatia. We’ve just arrived in Korcula but long for the warmth, modernity, and subtle presence hidden within the streets of Deocletians palace. It is truly a wonder how this place exists, but as the years progress we intuitively know we have not slept in those amazing memory foam beds nor awoken amidst the perfect while and gold sheets adorning the beds of the hotel for the last time. Setup like apartments, it’s an impossible hotel to see unless you’re looking for it. No cars can enter within five blocks of it as it sits within the palace walls. The cafe owned by the hotel , “kitchen 5” is similarly perfect. modern concepts with expert attention paid to every simple detail, bleeds into the much older structur of the building, which itself bleeds into the ancient foundation upon which it is build. I cannot day enough about this place. The staff is not only kind as one would expect, but extremely helpful and proactive. Upon checking in, they provided us with a plan of our departure a few days later which involved a 5 minute golf kart ride to a ship meant for Korcula. When the ship was cancelled not eight hours prior to its departure and less than two hours before check out, the staff jumped st the opportunity to get our fair refunded and a new reservation On a boat leaving a mere 45 minutes later but with fewer stops. Needless to say we are profoundly grateful for the hospitality.

Charming hotel, no traffic, opposite Roman area.
Arriving from Split airport by the public shuttle bus (30 Kn pp) which terminates at the main bus station beside the train station and ferry terminal, the hotel is a very short and fascinating walk (particularly if you choose a route through the Roman Palace, starting at the south east corner down steps into the underground areas, straight past tourist stalls and up stairs at the other end, passing the mausoleum / cathedral and bell tower, go left and continue to the west gate of the Palace and you are then in the Piazza, car free area, with the hotel right in front of you at the other end). Wow, what a way to arrive! Alternatively the hotel will organize a buggy to meet the bus. We enjoyed a wonderful welcome, extremely comfortable rooms with everything you need except coffee and tea (but the duty receptionist will bring excellent tea / coffee for free at any time, or you can go for it in the lovely cafe / restaurant, Kitchen 5, on the ground floor, where you get a great breakfast with incredibly attentive service). The staff on duty at the reception desk are very helpful indeed, ask them anything!

Great Hotel, disappointing breakfast
The hotel location is perfect, and the interior has recently been completely and beautifully renovated. The staff were very good, especially Tony who worked in night shift. The only negative was the breakfast, which is served in an adjacent restaurant. A Motel 8 breakfast is probably better—a small cheese/meat plate and some bread on counter, and a few limited cook to order items. For a hotel of this price this is not acceptable. The breakfast staff were great however, and once we changed our expectations it was OK. We stayed 5 nights; unfortunately two of them were Friday and Saturday. Some bar in the neighborhood played loud Techno music (boom-boom-boom etc) onwards to 1 am those nights. I would think the Piazza and it’s neighbors would apply some pressure to tone it back.

Beautiful hotel right in the center of the action of the old city of Split. Rooms were nicely decorated, bed was comfortable, and shower was large compared to other hotels we stayed in in Croatia. My only complaint is that our room was right in the lobby which felt a little too close for comfort with lack of privacy as we were entering and exiting the room. There is no elevator so be prepared when you come with your bags that you need to climb a flight of stairs. But the staff was very gracious in offering help if needed

Amazing hotel! Set the tone for our time in Split!
Our stay at the Piazza Heritage was perfect and exceed all of our expectations. From the golf car transfer for our luggage to the staff who all went out of their way to give us tips, book reservations, and make sure we were having the best time possible, this hotel went above and beyond. Our room overlooked one of the main plazas in Split and the hotel itself is a short walk from all the sights, bars, and nightlife. The free breakfast in the hotel's restaurant was also tasty and the staff there made us omelettes when they didn't have anymore scrambled eggs. I can't say enough positive things about this hotel and recommend everyone stay here if they can!
