Let's start with the positives. Sonny, the concierge, was outstanding and did a fantastic job helping me book a round of golf. The staff at the entrance were also excellent, and in general everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful. However, this is supposed to be a five-star hotel. While the staff resolved most of the issues after I reported them, these problems should never have existed. We checked in to find dirty towels, both shower heads leaked badly, spraying water everywhere, and the water supply was cut off for several hours without any notice. The hotel also needs refurbishment if it wants to maintain its five-star standard. The wooden pool decks are rotten, with loose screws, broken boards, and sections collapsing when stepped on. The beach in front of the hotel is also not maintained like those of neighboring hotels, where the sand is raked daily. Finally, the Wi-Fi is extremely slow. On several occasions I had to work from nearby cafés just to get a reliable internet connection. I'm sorry to say that our stay did not live up to the expectations of a five-star hotel.
