Learn more about Riomaggiore
Candy-colored houses appear to tumble down the cliffside toward a tiny harbor where fishing boats bob like bath toys. The Via dell'Amore coastal path connects to neighboring Manarola, offering views that explain why artists have been drawn here for centuries. Castle of Riomaggiore stands sentinel above the village, while Fossola Beach provides a perfect spot to cool off after exploring the steep, narrow lanes. Via Colombo bustles with cafes where locals sip the town's renowned wine produced from hillside vineyards. For the full Cinque Terre experience, hike the Sentiero Azzurro trail linking all five villages, pausing frequently to photograph vistas that seem almost too perfect to be real.

Hotel Il Saraceno
"We had a lovely stay in Volastra. The private parking was a huge bonus, especially since parking in the surrounding towns can be difficult to find and expensive. The property is beautifully situated on top of the hill, with a peaceful atmosphere and easy access to the surrounding area. Antonella was wonderful and so welcoming! She gave us helpful recommendations for walking down to Manarola, including the bus schedule for getting back up the hill and where to buy tickets for less than paying directly on the bus. She even offered to make us a coffee at 6:30 AM when we had an early checkout and couldn’t stay for the included breakfast, which was such a thoughtful gesture! She speaks French as well. A great spot to stay if you decide to visit Conque Terre, as I heard that you can also buy train tickets from her for cheaper."
Grand Hotel Portovenere
"This was the best hotel I’ve stayed at! The staff were absolutely incredible, the restaurant and breakfast were delicious, and the hotel was clean and in a very convenient location. I would stay here again! Alessio from the restaurant and Nicola who drove us in a shuttle were amazing and so helpful. Alessio remembered us every day and treated us like regular customers. 100% recommend this hotel and particularly the staff- every single person was excellent!"
Scorci Di Mare
"Paolo and his colleague were amazing . The location was perfect , the view from my room was spectacular . Everything was so close . I highly recommend this place ."
Locanda Ca Da Iride
"The room was on the ground level but with the gardens it felt very private and relaxing in the afternoons. The accommodation is easy to locate from the station and only one set of stairs to enter which is impressive for this area. The young girl on reception in the afternoons was so helpful with the passes for the walks. I really loved this stayed. It’s very comfortable not fancy. Heaps of options to eat near by and the rooms have lots of space."
Park Hotel Argento
"Chambres tres propres, belle piscine, bon shuttle vers le train, excellente nourriture"
Atmosfere Guest House - 5 Terre e La Spezia
"The spot was so close to the market lane and trains. Very clean!"
The Poet Hotel
"Stayed one night as a base for visiting Cinque Terre. Perfect location, 10 min walk to the station. Staff was welcoming and very helpful. Would stay again."
Hotel del Sole
"The staff were very friendly and helpful. Loved the room..had a patio to sit outside our room to see sunset. Location was ok..everything is on hills. Breakfast was nice, not huge selection but fresh, not packaged. Made great capicino. Would definitely again. Thank you!!"
