Dinner buffet was extremely disappointing, Hot Food was Ice Cold. At morning breakfast I was approached by a manager and told I had to pay for my wife's breakfast despite the booking clearly stating that breakfast for two was included with the room. This is the second time recently this has occurred. At this point I have to wonder if this is just a coincidence. This will be the last time I stay here and will forward my experience to Expedia and more importantly to my companies corporate travel department.

I generally stay here when I go to downtown Shanghai. I enjoy the amenities, location and the service. I do understand that during this time, the circumstances are slightly different because everyone is concerned about COVID-19. However, modifications SHOULD NOT come at the sake of decent service. We were not told that the central AC would be off and they ran out of fans to cool us off in the rooms with no open windows. They delivered breakfast to us since the buffet was closed. For 2 people, they put everything together with no plates, cutlery or even sugar for the coffee. When I called to say that the bacon was missing, they returned with bacon slices stuffed in a coffee up. Usually a very good hotel... during this time, I wouldn’t suggest staying there until they correct the quality of service.

Excellent service, great location
This is a beautiful, if slightly outdated hotel. The staff all spoke excellent English and were extremely helpful. Our room was comfortable and clean, wifi was fast, and breakfast was amazing. We also used the gym and pool facilities. The pool (25m) was great for lap swimming, if a bit warm, the jacuzzi was large and comfortable, the gym equipment was new and up to date (lots of equipment available), and the lockers were clean. The location of the hotel is very convenient, next to the People's Square and Nanjing Rd.
