We spent five nights in this unique hotel with a fascinating history. It is set by the River Lahn in the beautiful spa town of Bad Ems. The facilities such as the thermal pool were superb and we made full use of them. The staff could not have been more helpful, the room was really clean and comfortable and the food excellent. It is unashamedly old-fashioned but is full of character and we had a superb holiday there. Highly recommended!

Great property with nice, tastefully detailed interior. Some rooms can be on the small side but are sufficient. Everything is nicely detailed. The sauna spa is good and you have choices. Not every choice was up to my preference but overall it was very good. The saunas are beautifully detailed and that adds to a special experience. The breakfast is very good with great panoramic seating. The coffee stood out as very drinkable. One thing I noticed, and it may just be that morning, there was a lingering cigarette smell in the breakfast area. As if smoking was allowed in a nearby room. The lobby had also an intense smell of some sort of incense which reminded me of these supermarket plug-ins. If you work there every day you will suppress the smell / intensity but as a guest it was a bit overpowering. The balconies on the Lahn side have an enjoyable view

This hotel felt like a ghost town. Big and probably stately in its day, it’s now a vestige of the past clinging on for survival. We enjoyed our stay in BadEms due to a lovely cafe in front of our hotel (unrelated) that was along the river, a great thermal bath complex run by the city (six blocks down the road, and a fun restaurant up the waldbahn funicular down the street called Bismarck. The breakfast at the hotel was very nice but the spa area is small for the size of the hotel and not very inviting.

Får känslan att en rysk tsar byggt hotellet, väldigt udda inredning dom jag upplever något tacky men rolig. Trevlig personal, dålig frukost, bra lunch, hård säng, dålig utsikt (fr mitt rum). Väldigt många pensionärer bodde på hotellet, gissningsvis då vattnet från varma källan ska vara läkande och bra för kroppen.

Im Restaurant fühlte ich mich zurückgewiesen, als ich zusätzlich für den nächsten Abend gerne noch 2 Plätz reserviert hätte. Es wurde nicht direkt abgelehnt, aber auch nicht direkt zugesagt. Zuerst ging es nicht, dann zierte man sich erheblich. Man hatte den Eindruck erwünscht war das nicht. Danach ließ man mich eine halbe Stunde auf die Hauptspeise warten, damit konnte ich den bereits bezahlten Nachtisch nicht mehr nehmen, weil ich sonst zu spät zu einem Termin gekommen wäre. Mein Besuch, aus der Gegend konnte schon von schlechten Erfahrungen berichten. Wir haben für den entsprechenden Abend dann ein sehr gutes Restaurant an anderer Stelle gefunden. Das Bett war gut, das Frühstück auch. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis im Wellnessbereich war teilweise sehr schlecht. Ein großer Mangel ist die Parkplatzsituation. Vor dem Haus befinden sich ca. 10 Parkplätze für je 15 Euro die Nacht, die man aber reservieren muss. Ein weiterer Parkplatz für 5 Euro ist ca 100 Meter weiter, aber er war belegt, sehr uneben und mit enger Einfahrt. Ca 30 Minuten Fußweg entfernt befindet sich ein gutes Parkhaus, das ich dann nutzte.

Was soll man sagen? Der Wellnessbereich ist wirklich aussergewöhnlich. Allerlei Spielgerät liegt im Schwimmbad herum und hinterläßt einen unaufgeräumten Eindruck. Im ersten Stock sind die Küchendünste dominierend. Im Foyer parken die Fahrräder. Das Personal ist freundlich und bemüht, aber das Hotel scheint etwas zu groß zu sein. Vielleicht ist es auch gar nicht (mehr) möglich, ein feudales Hotel in einem postdemokratischen Land bestimmungsgemäß zu führen

Superhotel das ich mit der Bahn leicht zu erreichen ist. Hatte nun den Vergleich zum Schwesterhotel in Bad bertrich und kann nur sagen spitzenmässig. Das einzige was mich etwa enttäuscht hat war die bar. Ich saß mindestens 20 min. Und kein Barkeeper zu sehen. Und das um 18 Uhr. Ansonsten fahr ich da gerne wieder hi

Prima hotel in zijn soort. Wel 2 aandachtspunten waar mi niet goed mee omgegaan werd. Tv deed het niet. Aan uit knop schijnt erg verstopt te zijn, zonder enige handleiding. Ik schijn ongeveer 1 van de 4/5 personen per dag te zijn. Ben geen beurs, maar om eea weg te lachen zonder een stickertje pieltje…. Na 2/3 min douchen stond badkamer onder water…. O ja met deze douchegootjes, raken zo snel verstopt. Sorry kon er niet vanaf, werd ook weggelachen. Ik was ook hier niet de eerste met klachten. Maak die gootjes dan wat vaker schoon!
