The rooms are unique and fun to stay in for a night or two. I'd recommend booking one of the larger units, as the smaller rooms appear like they could feel cramped. The views from the bed and private patio are excellent, and the overall design of the property is impressive.
Unfortunately, the hotel is not yet firing on all cylinders. We checked in on a Saturday and weren't able to access our room until 5:00 PM. Many other guests appeared to be experiencing the same issue. As a result, we missed out on using the pool, which was one of the amenities we were most looking forward to.
The property also seems significantly understaffed. At times, a single employee was responsible for the front desk, bar, and restaurant service. The room was mostly clean, although there was still hair in the shower when we arrived.
The bathroom design also has some flaws. The shower glass is too short, allowing water to spray across the floor, and inadequate ventilation appears to be causing the shower ceiling paint to peel already.
RESET is probably the best hotel option in Twentynine Palms unless you're interested in renting a house. That said, I found the room rate difficult to justify given the current level of service and execution. The property has tremendous potential, but management needs to invest more in staffing and operations to deliver the experience the design promises.
I genuinely hope they work through these issues.
