First of all, let’s start with the real issues.
The hotel is overcrowded at the beach, and the marketing for their Junior Suites is close to false advertising. We stayed in a Junior Suite with Sea View and Private Pool (“The Collection”) and had a building and a cactus directly in front of our room.
The problem is not just the disappointment itself, but the fact that the promotion for the room does not reflect reality. When we raised the issue with the hotel staff, they showed us two alternative rooms — one smaller and clearly downgraded from the original, and one presented as an upgrade, which was just as poorly located as the room we already had.
Yes, the food and overall service are decent — but this is not a five-star hotel when measured against the standard the price and marketing suggest.
We stayed two out of six nights, attempted to settle with the manager for a refund, and were rudely declined. We left the hotel and continued our vacation elsewhere.
