Very disappointing

This has good points and bad points i give this hotel 5 stars in the past but has went downhill massively for me Cons No soap or shower gel Staff at breakfast no customer service Avoid eye contact not bringing tea. Slow at filling out items. Was no plates for 10 mins. I ate at this hotel many times even when not staying at the hotel and many times outside. It was 29 degrees in ireland and i asked could i eat outside and given a blunt no not even said anything else so i left and got dinner out

Beautiful setting, we had an isolated problem with our room but our concerns were understood and immediately addressed by the manager. Rooms were nice. Breakfast was good and dining area was clean. I highly recommended in spite of the problem we initially had because it was addressed with great concern for our happiness.

Great if you really want to get away

Property is very nice, location is beautiful but you are truly in middle of nowhere. It's not in Leenane. It's about 20 minutes away so if you want a spa weekend or want to do their adventure activities, it's awesome. They promote digital detox as there's no cell service and their WiFi isn't great. If you want to be in more of a town, stay in near/Clifden. Town of Leenane is very tiny so your dining options are very limited.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful area. Adventure centre activities were great fun. Just felt the staff were a bit inexperienced and lacked that little extra hospitable touch that local staff can bring. Some requests around food and drink orders were confused, bar service was quite slow and the young staff all round seemed a bit hesitant and not quite attentive to the level of service one expects for the price we paid for our stay. Aside from that, it was good. Food was nice and it was quiet at night so we all slept well….

The location was nice. The staff could have been much friendlier. When asked for water, they delivered a carafe and no glasses. When asked for tea, we had to ask for honey, etc. NOTHING was delivered with a smile.

An attractive retreat.

Overall enjoyed our visit to this remote resort. We were fortunate with the weather and the location scenery is both dramatic and spectacular. On the negative side we were somewhat surprised with the room size for a 4 star property. Accepting we paid a lower rate it was still quite small. We couldn’t envisage a longer stay beyond the 2 nights we had in the court yard rooms. The apparent complete absence of a snug bar/dedicated bar area was also a surprise as the resort is well away from other hostelries. On the upside we enjoyed our dining experiences and the service was both attentive and pleasant.
