We loved our room which overlooked the river. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful, especially with overcoming the language barrier. It is really hard deciding on which ryokan to go to but if you're looking for a more intimate and traditional experience, this is a great option! They had a private onsen in our room, public baths seperated by gender, and four private baths as well. All of the facilities were beautiful and very clean!

The room is very nice, highly recommend if you are traveling more than 2 people. The separate room guaranteed a good sleep. The in-room bath tub with Onsen water is amazing. I will pick this hotel again for more nights’ stay. The only thing that’s not the hotel’s fault is it’s crowed. A lot of travellers during the Christmas season, it’s understandable. It will be the best if hotel can design some kind of routing method to avoid guests to get crowed.

Amazing ryokan style hotel, highly recommended. The omakase dinner and breakfast were both delicious. Surpassed our expectations with the hotel and the surrounding area. Beautiful place with lots of outdoor activities depending on the season. We visited during November and it was the most beautiful place we seen in Hokkaido, including the drive into and out of it. This place would be our top priority when we visit Hokkaido again.

An amazing hotel and magical winter experience

A truly amazing experience. One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in. A ryokan experience with a modern twist. We took the complimentary shuttle bus from Sapporo Station to the hotel. Everything about the hotel is lovely. The room is just stunning, with its own onsen. The public onsen is very nice too. The meals are Japanese cuisine at its best. Breakfast and dinner. And the setting of the restaurant overlooking the Jozankei valley! Over breakfast one morning we looked at heavy snow falling. It was magical. Jozankei town is a winter wonderland with so much snow and very high snow banks. Worth a wonder around. We also enjoyed the different teas at the tea lounge and ice cream and hot drinks at the Zen Lounge after our hot spring bath. We highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants lots of snow in winter, on the ground and from the sky.

Breakfast menu was below average, non of the staff spoke English it was very difficult to try to communicate with them , I made my booking without the dinning package I decided to added on upon my arrival , the dinner for each person is approx 2000yens equivalent to usd70.00 x 2 usd140.00 . Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here for 2 nights. The benefit of being able to wear just socks and walk throughout the hotel is amazing. Being able to use a private onsen on the first floor and in your room is very nice. While food is good, I wouldn't call it great. It's multi-course but always has a hotpot round and you can order extra dishes if you are hungry. If you stay for 2 nights, you can choose your next night's main dish but it's also hotpot style main. Wouldn't recommend staying for food but everything else is fantastic and worthy of 2 nights stay.
