Quaint and Comfy Hotel Near Banff National Park
My wife and I stayed here for half of our eight-night vacation in the area, and we enjoyed the Georgetown Inn very much. It's quaint, quiet and comfortable. We loved our room, which I believe was the Victoria room, as it looked out over the front entrance toward the town and the mountains beyond. The 2-person whirlpool bath was nice, as was the shower. Our only negatives were that the bed was covered with pillows but there was hardly any place to put them at night (there was not closet, just a small rack on the wall). We didn't find the restaurant all that great, but it was fine. Most importantly, we had easy access to Banff and a large number of decent restaurants.

The Good and the Not So Good
We stayed here at the beginning of our holiday and on our way home. The first time we had a room on the second floor looking out over the parking lot. Although there wasn't any "view" it was quiet and we enjoyed the stay. On our way back, we were given a room on the front of the inn overlooking the bar. It also looked out on one of the main streets of the town. The noise of the trains and traffic was very loud. Had we shut the window it probably wouldn't have been a problem. But it was a choice of the noisy air conditioner or the fresh air and outside noise. We have enjoyed this inn several times before and would probably go back, but would hopefully get a room on the back of the hotel. The pub below the rooms had good food and the staff were genuinely happy to see you. Quite centrally located and within walking distance to the main part of town.

Just ok
The exterior of the hotel looks great, the interior, not so much. The furniture in the room was old and beat up. There was a white elephant whirlpool in the living room area - the space could have been put to better use. The bed was way too soft. The clerk wanted to charge my account when it was already paid - I had to insist that they take the "balance due" off the check in paperwork. Would not stay there again.
