Lots of hidden fees. Staff members are rude. No explanation for not having deposit…

Location was great and the hotel was beautiful. We the staff was very nice. We had to request extra washcloths and shampoo to accommodate the three of us, and it took a while to get those items- 20 minutes or more.

Late check out was appreciated and was not an issue at all like at most hotels. They also held our bags so we could continue into Times Square.

I would have appreciated knowing that the “resort” Or destination fee was already included It was not explained to me very well. I missed out on taking advantage of it.

Having to pay a $30 "Resort Fee" forcing you to spend money in their restaurant, The Foundry. It should be renames The Founder. First night, only ONE waiter working the floor. Had to wait nearly an hour to get our food. Literally threw the silverware on our table and disappeared. The next day, HAD to eat there again because that $30 fee was shoved down our throats. This time thought we had plenty of time for a quick lunch before a theater matinee. Again, I had to chase down the waiter, (the same one from the night before) to light a fire under him otherwise we were going to be late for the theater. (one block away). Food was very good; service was terrible because the dining room was understaffed. My background: I am a retired Executive chef, CIA graduate, with a Bachelors degree in Hotel & Restaurant and Travel Management.I know the Corporate Chef of Starwood Hotels personally. Hotel was great; restaurant terrible service.

The hotel itself is not bad but there are some things I didn’t like : the free WiFi is very bad and almost didn’t work also the only refrigerator at the room is full of snacks and drinks for sale and is not available for personal usage and there is no microwave at the room.

It was a terrible place to stay! I will never again in my life stay there! I knew my flight was going to be late so I called ahead to make sure they had my room available they said they put a note in there and my room would be ready. Got there and it wasn’t available. I had to stay in a regular room when I had an upgraded room with a view. The sockets in the room didn’t work, the dresser drawers didn’t work, they charged me for stuff I DIDNT take out of the mini bar, ordered room service and they sent up the wrong food, and the most annoying part of it all is they key cards never worked! We had to get new cards about 10 times in 4 days, and even then they still didn’t work! The staff was horrendous! Absolutely disgusting! There was only one staff member that did his job well! Wish I would have caught his name to give him the credit he deserves! I could tell many stories of the terrible staff but this review would be 10x longer than it already is! SPEND YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE!

The best part of this hotel is the location. Perfectly located that you can walk anywhere. A couple of blocks from Time Square, plenty of restaurants and bars on 8th Avenue. When I checked in the lady at the counter was fantastic, she upgraded my room when I mentioned that it was my Birthday at no cost. I already knew going in that there would be a resort fee however she explained what was included in the fee and it is well worth it. The one point that I was disappointed with was the wrong information i received from the concierge. With the resort fee you are able to get one ticket for the Hop on Hop Off bus for 48 hours and with an additional cost of $10 you can have all 5 tours. When I went to book my ticket he didn't print the barcode properly so the bus driver did not accept the ticket. I had to go to the Hop On hop off bus office to have them reprint a new ticket and then he also mentioned the wrong time for the night panoramic tour. He told me that the last bus would be at 8pm. I made sure I was there 30 minutes before and by 8:15 there was no bus. Now if this was a hot day it would have been fine but considering it was the end of February it was cold and standing outside waiting for a bus was not pleasant. I was able to get the right hours from the actual office and realized that there was a closer stop right around the corner from the hotel. Don't trust what the concierge tells you get the information yourself.
