A class act from the beginning to the end… The Spa and treatments we received were the best we had ever experienced.. beyond our expectations … however, we did pay our fair share ( ie. $$$$) The breakfast was the other highlight… So many choices of quality , fresh items - very representative of the Colombian cuisine. Loved our stay. It’s definitely a place to go to and stay there since it’s about an hour from Cartagena and traveling back and forth can be expensive. The staff and the service were unbelievable. The food was great, breakfast buffet had a million options BUT I would avoid the food truck at all costs and the sushi restaurant.

This resort was absolutely beautiful. It feels remote and secluded while offering so many activities and delicious dining options that you'll never be bored. We didn't bring our young kids this time, but we noticed there were plenty of family-friendly amenities, including a kids' club, children's pool, playground, and organized activities throughout the day. It definitely made us wish we had brought them along! Breakfast was our favorite part of each day. Sofitel truly thinks of everything—the attention to detail and the exceptional service from the staff were second to none. Every interaction made us feel welcome and well taken care of. We can't wait to come back!

We had such a fun experience at the Sofitel! Our room was absolutely lovely, and getting around the property was easy. They had golf carts to transport you, but we just walked up to the main building and enjoyed the beautiful grounds. Staff was very friendly and helpful, especially in the restaurants. The road to get to the hotel was in really poor condition, and that was a bummer for when we went to an activity offsite. I also wish that they could do something about the people on the beach constantly asking you to buy something because I got tired of being approached over and over, even though I understand that they are just trying to make a living. That being said, it was such a lovely place, and the water was beautiful. Also, the food was fantastic! I would definitely recommend the Sofitel in Baru!

We arrived at 2 PM with family, three rooms total. Since it was my wife’s birthday, I had arranged balloons and decorations for 5:30 PM. Unfortunately, our room wasn’t ready until 6:15 PM. What was most frustrating was the front desk’s attitude—rather than offering solutions, the answer was repeatedly “no.” I ultimately had to escalate the issue to the manager. The property is beautiful, the rest of the staff was very nice, and breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately, the poor handling at the front desk took away from what should have been a special birthday experience.

Fair prices for drinks at the beach and diverse food offerings. Only downside is the gravel road of approx. 5km to arrive to the hotel, which makes the travel slightly uncomfortable.

They treated us so well here I didn't mind the incidental charges. Be prepared to pay for every meal and every trip both ways to the city. This location is for families and relaxation but the Walled city is vibrant and culturally rich! The last 20 minutes of the ride to this location is rocky because the road is not paved. Transport by car is cheaper than by boat, so I recommend an SUV by land because the ride is a little smoother than a regular sedan.
