From beginning to end, Victoria and the staff didn’t stop to amaze us as we spent our wedding anniversary at the hotel. Everybody was so accommodating, the amenities were super, breakfast great and the view… my goodness the view.. We in particular loved how the staff were friendly, down to earth and not stiff. It felt like staying in someone’s massive house rather than staying at a hotel. This is a hotel is not just a place to stay, it’s an experience in itself - thank you!

This hotel was the one-night magical stay we were hoping it would be. It felt like a well-maintained step back in time. The breakfast and restaurant were lovely, the staff were very friendly, and the grounds were STUNNING. I couldn't believe how beautiful it was to sit at the restaurant and to be outside - the flowers, the views, the touches. Absolutely loved it! My only disappointment was that we were there for our honeymoon, and even after contacting them before, the hotel didn't acknowledge that in any way. Overall, would recommend it to someone wanting a special "off the beaten path" stay.

Wow! What an oasis from the business of life! Room was wonderful and spacious; beds were great. View from balcony and all eating areas is incredible. Staff was very responsive and helpful with one exception - wanted to make a shorter night by getting some bar food (as advertised) around 6 pm, but only alternative given was the formal dining at 7 pm. Love accessibility to funicular and train network. Grounds meticulously cared for.

Mostly wonderful experience in a beautiful hotel with amazing views. There were a couple dead flies on the floor in our room which was the only disappointing thing. The other thing that was extremely disappointing was our dinner reservations seating (which we made a month in advance). We had a 7pm reservation right when they opened. They have PLENTY of seating with views of Lake Geneva which we wanted for our final night of our anniversary trip. We got there, and were placed in the interior against a wall so I couldn't even see the view at all. My husband could partially see it. I didn't ask to be moved because I'm not typically that type of person, but I was sorely disappinted and confused as to why they did that with as many open tables with a view they had, and when I had booked a month in advance. Nevertheless, we had an enjoyable stay despite our last dinner ambience being ruined. Our server was fantastic.

I stayed the second time in Hotel Victoria. What is amazing for me is the level of service and the attention to details. It is a classic 5 star service combined with the warm hospitality of the owner family. This mix and the beautiful setting is getting rare in the world of hospitality. I absolutely loved the view from the double doors in my room and its balcony, the comfortable bed, the silence between my room and others (I was only on floor 3 but it was very quiet), the grandeur of the hotel although it is almost like a slight pastiche of itself as some of it is a tiny bit jaded/faded. The carpet in my room and garishly tiled but classically designed bathroom are both approximately 40+ years old but I found really comforting as it reminded me of staying at my grandparents! I had dinner and it was absolutely impeccable Service and food and would highly recommend. The reception desk were very efficient and helpful. I loved staying here and would love to come back. Highly recommend.

Wonderful view

The hotel is a bit away from Montreux city center, but easily reachable via the train or the funicular. As it is located high on a hill, you can enjoy a wonderful view over the lake, particularly when wandering in the nice garden of the hotel. Service is perfect, room are old-style but comfortable and very clean. Just be aware that there is no double bed, only two single ones close to each other. Only the choice of the breakfast buffet could be improved, otherwise everything was perfect.

The Victoria in Glion is a magical and magnificent place. A historic hotel with incredible charm; you feel like you are walking into a forgotten world of sincere hospitality and pride in the professional attention and atmosphere the staff and building effuse. Their three course dinners with the desert cart are an amazing treat. The Instagram inspiring view from the outside dining hall, the well manicured grounds or from one of their balconies facing Lake Geneva are what I will miss most.

The views and grounds are stunning. The hotel itself has an “old glory” feeling to it, you would expect to run into “Hercules Poirot” any minute and not be surprised :-) The staff is friendly and very responsive. We loved the breakfast (both the quality and the views). We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on our balcony and taking in the views. While it is high above Montreux (800m), it’s easy to reach by train from Montreux main train station or the funicular (cable car) from Territet (a neighborhood or “suburb” of Montreux), or by car of course. The train stop in Glion is just 5 minutes walk to the hotel. The same train also goes to the top of the mountain (2000+ meters high). All together, we would definitely go back there!
