From check in with the wonderful Raphine who welcomed us warmly and explained everything, to the comfortable and clean room and bathroom and especially the fabulous breakfast with so many delicious choices, this hotel exceeded all expectations. In addition, the location across from the railway station was ideal. So very happy we chose this hotel.

Wow, a well-maintained vintage hotel located in the heart of Helsinki. The retro vibe has modern features, including a/c in each room. The hotel is located across from the central station and is surrounded by dining and shopping options. The area is clean and safe. You can easily access transportation options within a short walk: trains, buses, taxis, etc. I wouldn't hesitate to stay in this hotel in the future.

The staff, from reception to the restaurant to the cleaning staff throughout the hotel were all especially accommodating to our individual needs. In addition, their friendliness was warm and felt sincere. I say this because their memory of what we preferred lasted throughout our 4 day stay. I highly recommend this hotel.

My stay in Vaakuna was nice and relaxing.Breakfast was just fantastic for every taste, even for children ❤️ Only thing I didn't like was the carpets in the corridors. I understand it is to avoid the noise but... Thank you of keeping the décor and the elegant style of the Vaakuna. I do remember Vaakuna from 1960th when visiting Helsinki with my parents and stayed in Vaakuna.

Old style hotel close to main rail station. The rooms are not big but they are comfortable, well maintained and room noise is minimal. Good to see that rooms have a kettle, a fridge, an iron and an ironing board. Small lifts and long queues at reception. Lovely views from roof top bar. Good breakfast but don’t try to get there early as the lifts for the 10th floor are only turned on when breakfast starts.

Pretty standard hotel room with nothing to complain about. Breakfast buffet had plenty of selections. Unfortunately the rooftop bar is closed on a Sunday, the day we were there. Property can get pretty busy and we noted long queues at check in several times. Location is excellent for public transport (trains, including airport train & trams).

We loved our stay at the hotel. The location was perfect, the staff was wonderful and our room was very nice. The complementary breakfast was fantastic with so many choices. We had dinner in the dining room and both the service and food were excellent. I can’t imagine finding a hotel in Helsinki with better value for the money. Slightly old fashioned but clean, friendly, nice restaurant and bar on 10th floor with great views. Very (very) easy from airport to central station by train. No more than 4-5 min walk station to hotel. Hotel well situated for central Helsinki sights and waterfront.
