Had a great time at this hotel. It felt authentic, comfortable, and enriched our experience of Penang. The hotel is nicely located too. The staff made it an even better experience. Jessy was extremely helpful as was one of the other members (whose name I forgot) but took time out and spent over half an hour with me to help plan and advise on different sights to see and food to eat. Worth the stay!

The hotel is clean, quiet and very comfortable, even though it is located in the middle of downtown. The location is very convenient, with good hawker food within walking distance. The room was cozy and perfect for a couple’s stay. Overall, a very pleasant and relaxing experience. Highly recommended.

Loved my stay at Macalister Terraces. Beautiful designed while retaining the building’s historical soul and character. The hotel although small it offers that added advantage of providing a family and personable service. Upon my arrival I was greeted by the lovely Marie/Maria she has a warm motherly character she took the trouble to guide me through every point of my room, how the ac works, and the other amenities within the hotel., bless her she really made me feel at home. One thing to note there is no elevator and if your room is on second floor you will need to walk up two flight of stairs. So if you have a lot of suitcases just be prepared. In all I would certainly recommend. The location is ideally located near to all excellent dining spots as well as historical sites in George Town. The area is also very quiet at night.

The staff at this hotel is very kind and helpful. Be aware that the rooms which are not in the premium category do not have windows. The windows on the photos are in fact wallpapers. Just to be aware as this can be misleading. Other than that, the place is quite nice and conveniently located. The room in the ground floor was a bit small and you can hear the people passing by the staircase. However, the room on the upper floor (were we relocated to), are a bit larger. Overall, good for one or two nights.

This hotel is a nice little, I believe 20-room clean hotel with large clean rooms and an amazing friendly staff. In particular, Liza is exceptionally helpful and friendly and if you wish, she can arrange for day tours. Excellent hotel. No complaints whatsoever.
